MySQL is not running after upgrade to 5.6.14

Hi Xampp Friends,

I just upgraded my XAMPP to 5.6.14 with MariaDB instead of MySQL. Now after sudo /opt/lampp/lampp status, all are running except "MySQL is not running".

Is this because we are no longer using MySQL? How can i start MariaDB?

Please help.

What do you mean by "Upgrade"? As there is no upgrade and no upgrade procedure, usually you have to remove the old installation and then install the new one.

I did so with the 64bit version and everything starts up fine.
