Apache crash every Sunday

Postby king0190 » 27. September 2015 08:40

Hello ,

My Apache crash every Sunday morning arround between 3:50 am and 4:00 am.
On this time no cronjob is running.
I use CentOS 6.5.

When i want to restart Apache i get the message:

Starting httpd: (98)Address already in use: make_sock: could not bind to address [::]:80
(98)Address already in use: make_sock: could not bind to address 0.0.0.0:80
no listening sockets available, shutting down
Unable to open logs

It looks like that apache want to backup the old log file and create a new one.
After a server restart all works fine. I have this problem now since 1 month.

Anyone have a idea?

thanks,

Look into the access log for any clue.

Due to the blocked port, i think that Apache is still running, but "hanging". Your description is rather poor, what do you mean by "crashing"? Try to run a "ps -fe" as root and look for httpd or apache process (if it has ended or if it is still there).

I cannot help you about that, look into the access log, into the error log and finally find out, if a tool like logrotate is activated and is involved.

It may also be an issue of one of your installed scripts, i do not know anything about your server.
