Apache won't connect in XAMPP

Postby atlisaev » 06. September 2015 01:06

I'm on the first steps in following the guidelines from http://fossbytes.com/how-to-build-your-own-social-networking-website/
However I can't get much ahead because of a error I get when connecting the XAMP Control Panel v.3.2.1

I get the error:
11:57:26 PM [Apache] Error: Apache shutdown unexpectedly.
11:57:26 PM [Apache] This may be due to a blocked port, missing dependencies,
11:57:26 PM [Apache] improper privileges, a crash, or a shutdown by another method.
11:57:26 PM [Apache] Press the Logs button to view error logs and check
11:57:26 PM [Apache] the Windows Event Viewer for more clues
11:57:26 PM [Apache] If you need more help, copy and post this
11:57:26 PM [Apache] entire log window on the forums

I tried looking for the World Wide Web services to be adjust as some guidelines recommended but didn't find any service as WorldWide....

When I go to the http://localhost I get a screenboard which does not look anything like the one in the directions from the link above. The screenboard is actually not any thing.

Any recommendations?

Hello,

There are several things wrong with the given approach:
The writer from http://fossbytes.com/ assumes that you have some technical knowledge.
If something goes wrong they assume you will find the problem very quickly, based on your technical knowledge.
They make it look easy when in reality it is not.
They are mentioning six applications to build in this environment. Each of them with their own little can of worms (problems) attached to it.
Forget it. You are wasting your time. And not being able to start Apache is only the beginning....
