Problems with the Windows version of XAMPP, questions, comments, and anything related.

http://localhost/ is not available

Hey Apache Friends,

I feel like I'm part of a 90's kids show every time I say that in my head.

I have downloaded xampp-win32-5.6.11-0-VC11-installer
I have Windows 8.1 Single Language (Also sure to be up to date)
XAMPP is in C:\xampp\
I run the XAMPP Control Panel as a Adminstrator
I installed Apache, MySQL, and FileZilla as a Windows Service from the XAMPP Control Panel
I pressed start for Apache and MySQL and the both are running.

The problem is: http://localhost/ is not available AND http://localhost/phpmyadmin/ is not available
Neither is 127.0.0.1 or my IP 192.168.1.100
I have a Huawei running on 192.168.1.1

This the only warning I get. The rest is just normal notifications.

Any help is welcome. I'm a XAMPP virgin so please be gentle.

P.S. I don't know how to upload an image here. Any help in this regard could save us a bunch of time.

P.P.S. Let me know if you need any more info.

This sounds very strange, because "Huawei" cannot run Xampp and "localhost" only works on the Xampp PC itself. Did you try "localhost" on the Xampp PC?

Please specify more exactly what happens, when you enter http://127.0.0.1 in the browser.

Also try to enter http://::1 instead and tell us (exactly again), what is happening.

P.S.: Who is meant by "us" (" could save us a bunch of time.")? If you are working in an office, maybe you have a firewall which catches all requests to/from port 80?

Maybe just me in that us.

http://127.0.0.1 in the browser showed not available.
My Windows started freaking out in all ways soon afterwards, so I just reset the thing and now everything is working, including xampp.

Guess somewhere along the way me or someone else messed with the system in the wrong way.
