When installing to a folder where the path contains a space, I get an error that the installation was not fully successful. Installation failed (php.exe) and something about the VisualC++ 2008 that may still need to be installed due to the failure.
- OS: Windows 8.1 (installed on C:)
- XAMPP: 5.6.3
- Path: "P:\Program Files (x86)\xampp"
note that the path is NOT on my C: drive and therefore has no UAC write permission problems, as was warned about when writing to "C:\Program Files (x86)"
Something that I noticed is that it displayed "P:\Program" as path when the error was encountered. Also, the installation succeeded in "P:\servers\xamppservers\xampp\". Therefore I assume that the error is caused by the space.
