Problems with the Windows version of XAMPP, questions, comments, and anything related.

Hi guys, I have not found the info on this yet so I'd like to ask;
Can I install the latest version over the current version I have? Or do I need to back it all up, uninstall xampp and then install the new xampp and then restore each site and db?
Current version: XAMPP Version: 1.8.3
Control Panel Version: 3.2.1 [ Compiled: May 7th 2013 ]
Cheers

This! Otherwise you risk to destroy your current XAMPP environment.
Best wishes,
