Joomla 3.4 and XAMPP 5.6-3.0: I get Error 403

Postby micmac » 01. March 2015 22:41

Hi,
I've installed XAMPP 5.6-3.0 on a mac os x 10.10.2. All is ok.
When I put last wordpress folder 4.1.1 on htdocs I recognize and install it,
but when I put last joomla 3.4 folder on htdocs, at http://localhost/joomla
I receive an error: access denied! You do not have permission to access the requested object, or the object can not be read by the server. Error 403. Apache/2.4.10 (Unix) OpenSSL/1.0.1j PHP/5.6.3 mod_perl/2.0.8-dev Perl/v5.16.3
can someone help me?
Thanks
Mic

Its exactly what the error message says - Apache cannot access the new folder joomla. Apache is not executed by your own userid, but from any system user ("daemon" or similar). You created folder "joomla" with another userid and you did not grant sufficient rights for Apache.
