XAMPP 5.5.19 error resolving relative links

Using WordPress with side bar with pictures: the pictures use relative links to ease backup operations.
The side bar appears both on the home page, sub pages and sub-sub pages.
Deepest level link is therefore ../../../picture_folder/picture.jpg
Previous version of XAMPP showed pictures correct on all level of pages, but this 5.5.19 release only on the deepest level.
Tests showed that using ../picture_folder/picture.jpg will show pictures on home level, but not on deeper levels of course.
The ../../../ should never resolve beyond the root, so I think this is a bug.

Please write a reproducable step by step testcase.
I don't have any idea what problem you are describing.
