Setting up XAMPP - FTP access for local wordpress

I installed XAMPP and it is working, I am not sure how to add the test site to my FTP program, I use Captain FTP. I am not sure where the actual wordpress folder resides on my mac.

Any advise would be appreciated!

I did find that by adding my wordpress folder to the htdocs folder in XAMPP, and putting the PHP info in the wp-config file, it loads perfectly. If I do updates, I get an FTP error, and can't figure out how to correct this. Here's where I'm stuck:
