Unable to install to USB 1.8.3-4

Postby donenvy » 25. June 2014 00:32

Hi all,

I registered here today because I am really struggling to install the latest version to USB with no drive letter issues.

I downloaded these versions from soundfourge, tried installing, tried un-zipping and copying folders across without using the install file as per:
https://community.apachefriends.org/f/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=68424
But I still get the same problem which is apache nor mysql will not run

xampp-portable-win32-1.8.3-4-VC11-installer.exe
xampp-portable-win32-1.8.3-4-VC11.zip

If I let it assign a drive letter via the .exe install, it works, but as soon as my drive letter changes, it stops working. If I use the .zip version still throws up the same error:

Any help please
