Unable to start Apache

Postby shashi » 06. May 2014 08:36

Dear Forum members,
I installed XAMP on win 8 and am trying to start Apache. Gives the below :

09:09:10 [Apache] Error: Apache shutdown unexpectedly.
09:09:10 [Apache] This may be due to a blocked port, missing dependencies,
09:09:10 [Apache] improper privileges, a crash, or a shutdown by another method.
09:09:10 [Apache] Press the Logs button to view error logs and check
09:09:10 [Apache] the Windows Event Viewer for more clues
09:09:10 [Apache] If you need more help, copy and post this
09:09:10 [Apache] entire log window on the forums

Am able to start Tomcat and MySQL cleanly.

Looking forward to your response

Thank you

Shashi

Just had the same problem. Close the shell (click shell button) and try again and it should work :D
