xampp installation

Hello can someone help please i have notebook laptop, and i have be trying to install joomla 3 day can't figure it out. i have install in others computers and i know how to install and is not me. Could not connect to the database. Connector returned number: Unable to connect to the Database: Could not connect to MySQL i get this message on joomla installation step 4. is not going thru please someone helpppp
