Weird problem with viewing a site

Postby driven13 » 25. February 2014 19:45

Hello all experts.

I have been using XAMPP for a few years now and have had no issues at all.

last night I instantiated a new MySQL db and installed the website files from my other server.

By mistake I tried to access this new site in the browser with this address: www.localhost/geo

But then when tried to access the site via the correct address: localhost/geo it immediately forwards itself to the old wrong address, www.localhost/geo and, of course, throws an error page.

I have not see this behavior ever before. I tried clearing my dns cache and there is noting in my etc/hosts file either.

Anyone know what's going on and how I can fix it....??

Thanx in advance.

All the best.

Any other ideas...??

Success!!

I restarted the computer after clearing the cache and it is back the way it should be.

Thanx for the cache-clearing idea. That did the trick.

All the best.
