Syntax error: Unterminated quoted string

Hi,

Can someone kindly help me resolve this issue?
I tried to install "xampp-linux-x64-1.8.3-2-installer.run" on my ubuntu by following installation instructions from the FAQ page as ff:

$sudo chmod 755 xampp-linux-*-installer.run
$sudo ./xampp-linux-*-installer.run
./xampp-linux-x64-1.8.3-2-installer.run: 2: ./xampp-linux-x64-1.8.3-2-installer.run: Syntax error: Unterminated quoted string

Did I do the right thing or there could be something else?

I got same problem. I solved it downloading the 32bit installer
