Can't log in

Postby pekpac » 05. February 2014 01:03

Hi!
I have done everything right as it says. I have done the security in command center and chosen a password for every part! But when I shall login there something that's not right. I got error #1045 Cannot log in to the MySQL server? I have tried every password I got… The command center told me to use xampp as username!?

Best regards Niklas

Dont do that!

I have never heard that someone DOES NOT screw up his Xampp installation by running the (useless but dangerous) "security" command. I wrote a post to the Xampp team in order to REMOVE this "feature", as it does not work, as it has no real sense and as all users destroy their installation.

De-Install Xampp (and really remove the base folders), Install it again and thats it. There is no need for passwords in a single user development environment. You are not going to run an online server.

Now when I'm in myPHPAdmin and the database I get this warning note. "Your configuration file contains settings (root with no password) that correspond to the default MySQL privileged account. Your MySQL server is running with this default, is open to intrusion, and you really should fix this security hole by setting a password for user 'root'." What shall I do?

thanks for your help

If you don't forward any ports in your router, you are protected by your router against intrusion.
We don't provide any support via personal channels like PM, email, Skype, TeamViewer!
