i can't connect to Apache

Postby nopopup » 25. December 2013 17:04

I'm trying to integrate my game to facebook and I'm following the facebook's page since I have never made a facebook app before.
https://developers.facebook.com/docs/games/canvas/canvas-tutorial/
it says "For speed and convenience, it might be worthwhile running a local webserver as you develop. Plenty of solutions exist on the web to help you get started, most of which are free and open source. Check out XAMPP as a starting point. Once you have your web server up and running and hosting content from the web-friend-smash/friendsmash directory, navigate to index.php inside a web browser. You should hopefully see the game's front menu screen. Hit play and you'll see a simple game where celebrity photos launch on the screen."

so I installed XAMPP and ran the XAMPP control panel as Administrator and put the green check mark to the first 3 which includes Apache to install them. And then tried to start Apache by pushing the button but keeps "Attempting to start Apache services"

Please help me. I know nothing about server or web.
Thank you

I ran into the same problem. Right click on the program and choose "Run as Administrator." That should solve your problem. I also disabled my anti-virus for 10 minutes while i installed xampp. Good luck.
