Access Forbidden Message

Postby ChrisEbersohn » 17. September 2013 12:38

I am at the end of my wits with trying to get xampp and therefore Joomla to work. All the suggested solutions on the Apache friends and Joomla do not solve my problem.

When going http://localhost/C:/xampp, I get the following message:
Access forbidden!
You don't have permission to access the requested directory. There is either no index document or the directory is read-protected.

In the Apache error log file is the following:
(20023)The given path was above the root path: [client ::1:52737] AH00127: Cannot map GET /C:/xampp/ HTTP/1.0 to file

I’ve checked all the permissions and security and all are perfect. I even switched off my virus checker and installed in various other folders, but get the same message every time.

Can somebody please help!

I don't believe you have spend much time searching for a solution for your issue because your issue is a very common one which is solved many many times at this board.
