Can I connect Crystal Reports 9 to my XAMPP MySQL file?

Thank you for your link, however I only get as far as step 4, which indicates to use ODBC (RDO) to connect:
STEP 4
"Select either a pre-configured DSN",
"Open a file-based DSN", or
"Enter a manual connection string"
The example uses a preconfigured DSN (Sakila) that I do not have.
I'm trying to preconfigure my own XAMPP DSN using the Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Data Sources (ODBC)
When I click "Add" to Create New Data Source, which driver do I select? Or am I going about this all wrong?
