Fixing Security

Problems with the Mac OS X version of XAMPP, questions, comments, and anything related.

Fixing Security

Postby AndyApache » 31. July 2013 13:47

I have installed XAMPP 1.8.3-beta1 on a Mac OSX 10.6.8
The XAMPP security page indicates 4 security issues, and says
"To fix or close all these matters simply call
/Applications/XAMPP/xamppfiles/xampp security
This will start an interactive program."
However there is no file or folder called xampp security within the xamppfiles folder

Can anybody please help and explain how to fix theses security issues?

I see that this question was asked previously in 2012 but no replies were given back then.

Kind regards

Andy

Hi Andy,
"/Applications/XAMPP/xamppfiles/xampp" is an executable and "security" is a parameter for it.
Simply trust the instructions and run "/Applications/XAMPP/xamppfiles/xampp security" from a terminal.
If you are not logged as administrator run it as "sudo /Applications/XAMPP/xamppfiles/xampp security"

Bye...

Or you can do "cd /Applications/XAMPP/xamppfiles" then "./xampp security" or "sudo ./xampp security"
