After xampp upgrade problem with MySQL

Postby brandozz » 17. May 2013 16:11

I just recently upgraded my version of xampp and I'm receiving a SQL error in phpmyadmin. I copied all of my sites and my databases before upgrading. Uninstalled the old version then re-installed the new version. Copied my old "data" folder into the "mysql" folder.

When I log into phpmyadmin I see the following error in the left had sidebar:

SELECT `tables`
FROM `phpmyadmin`.`pma_recent`
WHERE `username` = 'root'

MySQL said:

#1146 - Table 'phpmyadmin.pma_recent' doesn't exist

I can see my databases but my wordpress site is having some issues connecting to it.

Don't copy ALL databases from an old installation over to a new one.
Applications like phpmyadmin will change and it's databases too.
Just copy over your own databases youself created.

I knew I should have backed up that data folder in the new install before clearing it out.

Thanks for the tip.

I copied my database folder into my new mysql -> data folder but when I open phpmyadmin it doesn't show my tables. Is there another step that I'm missing?
