apache crash when using mysql

Postby maor22 » 21. April 2013 12:50

hi there,

i've been using xampp for a few years, last time i used it was about a month ago and everything worked fine.
But!

now, when i'm trying to send mysql queries from any php file, the apache server crashes. that happens even when i get into phpmyadmin...

i tried to use different versions of xampp(1.7.5, 1.7.8, 1.8.1), but the problem stays. i even tried to use wamppserver! but again, the apace server crashes on the first attempt to use mysql.

i tried using different ports for apache - didn't work.

when i send a mysql query, i noticed that my systems starts up drwatson32 - and then the httpd.exe process is being killed.

xampp control panel log:
Code: Select all
14:25:35  [Apache]    Error: Apache shutdown unexpectedly.
14:25:35  [Apache]    This may be due to a blocked port, missing dependencies,
14:25:35  [Apache]    improper privileges, a crash, or a shutdown by another method.
14:25:35  [Apache]    Check the "/xampp/apache/logs/error.log" file
14:25:35  [Apache]    and the Windows Event Viewer for more clues

apache error log:
Code: Select all
[Sun [[[[[Sun [Sun [Sun [Sun [Sun [Sun [Sun [Sun [Sun [Sun [Sun [Sun [Sun [Sun [Sun [Sun [Sun
as you can see, not very helping...

my operating system is WINDOWS XP SP3, i'm using a clean unmodified xampp 1.8.1(and as i said before, i tried using other versions as well..).

HELP?

Hi maor22,

I have found a few other threads about that mysterious log messages in the apache error.log but all of them without any solution.
I don't think that it is an Apache/MySQL problem, especially not because you have tried different versions of XAMPP and WAMPServer. It can be an incompatibility with a third party program, malware or your operating system.

best wishes,
