Passwords for MySQL & Xamppdirectory path - WRONG

Postby cmebd » 14. April 2013 12:58

Hi there,

I am new here but have used xampp for a number of years.... I have just done a fresh install of the latest version and have been having problems with, specifically, the xamppdirectory password being retained.

After uninstalling (removing) and reinstalling twice I notice that the path showing in the /localhost/security page is repeating the "security" folder.

The paths are showing
C:\_\xampp\security\security\mysqlrootpasswd.txt
C:\_\xampp\security\security\xamppdirpasswd.txt

This would explain why I am required to login in and have to "force" it. How/Where would I change the path for the security files please?

TIA
Christine
