Can't get Apache to Start

Postby jlgoinggreen » 12. March 2013 13:27

Hi Everyone,
Sorry to bother you again. This time my Apache will not start. I ended up uninstalling everything (wordpress, dreamweaver, xampp) and attempting to re-install everything again. My first installation was XAMPP, which went fine, but not I can not start Apache. My SQL still has an X in front of it, but it states it was never uninstalled and started right up. Not sure what to do at this time. Should I uninstall it again?

I would uninstall everything and start fresh - don't forget to stop all related services and remove them and the directories completely.

Hi JJ,
Thank you so much for responding. Do you know how to uninstall my SQL. It seems that is the only thing I am unable to uninstall and I wonder if with all the uninstall/re-install is what is keeping my Apache from opening.

Any insight is appreciated.

Thank you,
Jen

If it doesn't uninstall, you most likely started mysql as a service. You need to stop/delete the service and then you can remove the directory and files.
