Did you alter the index.html in your htdocs folder?
I'm using Lampp (Linux Version) and the index.html was forwarding to the Lampp page located in the xampp folder.
Replace the index.html in htdocs with your indexpage and the problem should be history. For accessing the xampp page just enter the path to it and you can view it again.
