Check my site

Postby coolcatkelso » 24. January 2013 22:42

Hi guys

Can someone check my site and see if its working?

http://kelso-aquatics.dnsd.me

I had it all working perfectly from kelsofish.no-ip.info and the address bar showed "http://kelsofish.no-ip.info" once loaded from outside, but I recently changed DNS as no-ip is blocked from facebook etc for spamming. Now when I type "http://kelso-aquatics.dnsd.me" into the address bar and the page loads it shows as http://192.168.1.71/fish/index.php

?

Hi coolcatkelso,

It is not working. Your domainname gets resolved to a private ip range.

best wishes,
Altrea

P.S.: hoping you are not trying to use XAMPP in an insecure network like the internet. Otherwise hoping you have done enough for hardening everything bullet proof. XAMPP is not made or supported for such environments like from internet requestable live servers.

Ah bugger :(

Cheers anyway

Umm yea but just for testing at the moment, it will be moved over to hosting, but the lad i'm doing site for is in england, so easier to put it on internet using xampp.

Any ideas what the prob could be?

I have a dual host site
My other site is http://ridgeservices.no-ip.info and works perfectly but since I changed the Fish site to DynamicDNS it won't work?

I updated the details in /Apache/Conf/Extra/Vhosts

Sorry, but i don't actively support such ideas. There are other possibilities like remote software (teamviewer, etc) or most recommend secured VPN accesses to make a testserver visible to a person living far away.

well, obviously name translation (domainname resolution) or redirecting.

I do take onboard what your saying and know its a secure issue, but this will be resolved in next few days once eveythings working 100%

Yeah I get its a Domain Name issue or re-directing, but can you tell if it would be a setting within Xampp or something wrong with Dynamic DNS?
