I have installed Xampp on my ubuntu 12.04 correctly and when I enter http://localhost it does say "
It works!
This is the default web page for this server.
But when I typed "http://localhost/xampp/index.php" or "http://localhost/xampp" the sytem says
Not Found
The requested URL /xampp was not found on this server.
Apache/2.2.20 (Ubuntu) Server at localhost Port 80
So please somebody help me

Did you start XAMPP as 'root' or via su or sudo?
The 'It works' generally means that although the file is present, Apache is not actually running. Reason Apache would have acted on the Directory Index Apache directive and served the XAMPP Welcome Page
