Unable to start Xampp version 1.7.4.

Postby Martyn* » 02. December 2012 12:55

Hi,

I downloaded Xampp for the first time without issues and now, this morning, I cannot start it at all. I looked into Services and could not find iis, SQL, or skype to disable.

An error read: Component status check failure [3]. And there is a prompt to run the program from the root directory.

Still cannot figure it out even on admin running. I thought I might need to edit a Hotkey registry or something but I'm no expert at doing those things.

Any suggestions? I'm using Win7 Ultimate 64-bit.

Okay, I'm uninstalling xampp. I think it may have compatibility issues with the 64bit build.

So, instead, I would need to install xampp afresh. But what version do I need?

EDIT: seems that xampp cannot be removed.

If you installed anything as a service, you need to remove that first. If you already removed a bunch of the XAMPP files, you will have to do it manually via the command line.

I guess teamviewer use a critical port or something.....
