Unable to start mysqld

Postby bipin289 » 17. November 2012 16:10

I have downloaded xampp 1.8 for windows and opened the zip file. When I double click on control panel I get message that mysqld cannot be loaded on port 3306.
At this port another mysqld is running.

How do I change the port of mysqld?

How do i find out to which port mysqld should be assigned?

Thanks in advance.

It seems you still have mysql from another installation. Do you want 2 mysql programs running?

Yes. 1 mysqld is installed by Acquia Drupal Dev desktop in which I already have some websites under development. Please guide.
Thanks
