Postby wp1 » 25. October 2012 01:55

Hello!

I see from searching the forum that many have experienced this problem and some have been able to resolve it. After reading the responses and going to a page that is frequently referenced [http://community.apachefriends.org/f/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=50970], that I still could not understand how to correct the problem. :( :(

After typing in http://localhost I get the following message:

------
Access forbidden!

New XAMPP security concept:

Access to the requested directory is only available from the local network.

This setting can be configured in the file "httpd-xampp.conf".

If you think this is a server error, please contact the webmaster.

Hi wp1,

Please show us the contents of your
\xampp\apache\logs\access.log
\xampp\apache\logs\error.log
files of that specific request.

what is the output if you ping localhost in the commandline?

best wishes,
Altrea
