Hi there guys, my apache is coming up with this, i've searched for the log file but it is not where it is saying it is.
Error: Apache shutdown unexpectedly.
10:15:44 PM [Apache] This may be due to a blocked port, missing dependencies,
10:15:44 PM [Apache] improper privileges, a crash, or a shutdown by another method.
10:15:44 PM [Apache] Check the "/xampp/apache/logs/error.log" file
10:15:44 PM [Apache] and the Windows Event Viewer for more clues

I've disabled the port 80, And i don't really know what the windows event viewer is displaying to me. Cheers

I have the same issue. Can't understand where is the problem. I've installed VC++ 2008, added httpd as exeption in the firewall, removed other programs that on port 80.

When I tried to start setup_xampp.bat it pops out this error - http://i.imgur.com/GdXoE.png

Are you using Skype? If you are, you should either: 1) close Skype then start XAMPP, then start Skype again (if desired) or 2) Select Tools->Options from your Skype menu, then, in the resulting dialog box, click on Advanced->Connection; there is a checkbox labeled "Use port 80 and 443 as alternatives for incoming connections" that should be unchecked.

1. Could you post the entire XAMPP Control Panel log
2. Did you install the 32-bit version of VC++ 2008 runtimes?
3. Did you change the PHP config at all (enabled more extensions or other changes)?
4. Could you run the 'apache_start.bat' in the /xampp directory and post the error it is spitting out?
