I have used XAMPP for a few years now without problems.
I recently built a new PC and due to the hardware on it, I needed to upgrade my OS.
I was using XPpro 32bit, I was told that the 64bit was not that good and I have never liked Vista, so I took the plunge and got Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit.
Now some of you will already be saying why XAMPP is not working. This is probably because it only ships as 32bit.
That said, it installed without problems and I set it up as I always have on my second drive.
But if I navigate to localhost, it just says "waiting for response from localhost", but nothing ever happens.
So I have two questions.
Is there a fix to get up and running?
When will a 64bit XAMPP be available?
If anyone has other advice as well, you are welcome.

5 months and nothing.......
SO an update in case someone actualy reads this.
IIS, Skype and any other program that might interfere , I turned off/on for testing (well what I know of at least). Also tested EasyPHP and WampServer incase it was the software but with same results. I tried Microsoft's own IIS package as well to see if thier own would work ( did not ). I even tried changing the hosts file as recomended in some forum sections with no change.
