Send email with Xampp on localhost

Need to know exactly how to send email from a website powered by xampp located at my localhost machine. Have tested guides att the net but cant get i work anyway? I use xampp 1.8.0. What is the esiest way?

XAMPP has a folder called 'sendmail' that is a Windows version of the Linux utility of the same name.

There's a sendmail.ini sample in the folder that you can modify.
