Im new to the forum and to XAMPP in general but I am having some difficulty with my site that I am trying to test on XAMPP.
Here is my setup and what I am trying to do:
-Windows XP running XAMPP 1.8.0 as follows:
I have an HTML site that uses SSI as well as CSS that I am trying to test and some of the things that I know are working correctly on my actual server (the one that will be hosting my site) are not working correctly on my XAMPP server(used to test before I make it live). I have modified the .htdocs file to allow SSI, and to allow .html files to be parsed as .shtml and can post the code if needed but here is the code for the page:

and I can post the code for the footer if necessary but it shouldnt be affecting what is going on. Here is a screenshot of the correct page from the actual server:

Problems:
-the link in the side navigation is supposed to be white when it is the active page and it is not
-the background of the side navigation is not correct
-the top banner is incorrect
I can post any other code necessary but IM AT MY WITS END!!! I cannot figure out if it is something to do with how I have configured XAMPP or if it is to do with my CSS, SSI, or HTML etc. PLEASE let me know if you have any ideas.
