Permission Errors [Solved]

Postby Wasley » 09. July 2012 22:03

Hi all,

I've literally just started using XAMPP and learning about relational databases, MySQL, PHP, etc - So please excuse me if the answer to my question is very simple.

I've created a table in Phpmyadmin. Whilst looking around the tabs, I noticed the privileges tab. I thought it would be best to edit the password, so I did. In doing so, it has stopped me from accessing the database I created.

MySQL said:
Cannot connect: invalid settings.

Could someone point me in the right direction in fixing my errors.

Many thanks,

Wasley

P.S - If anyone knows any tutorials related to pulling information from a database and displaying it on a webpage using PHP, I'd love to read them

Hi Jon,

Thanks for your reply. I have read that post - and followed the steps given. It works, but is very intermittent. It'll allow me to access the DB but every now and then - it posts a permission error and the page needs a simple refresh. Any ideas?

What is the exact error you are getting?

Things that are authentication oriented shouldn't be intermittent.
