[solved]Port Issue

Postby sam20e » 18. April 2012 04:43

Hi

Im using windows 7 and XAMPP version 1.7.4. i also use skype but its not using port 80. I changed xampp port number in httpd.conf (both listen and server name)

even after that when i stop, start apache, its showing : Apache started [port 80]

i changed the port number in conf to 1001. So its supposed to start with port 1001. xampp server is not working.. any help?

Thanks
Sam

Don't mind on that message from the XAMPP control panel status window. It is hard coded in it's sourcecode.
Please take a look into your \xampp\apache\logs\error.log
Your starting attempts will be logged there and can give much better information about whats going on there.

Hi Sam,

I'm sorry, this control panel is end of life, so it would not help to inform any of the developers.

With XAMPP 1.8.0 the new Control Panel v3 developed by interested users of this board will be next default XAMPP control panel. In this new control panel you can configure the ports to observe to fit the XAMPP components configuration again. But a full parser to read out the ports automatically is not planned.

Please would you be so kind to add your XAMPP version and OS information like described in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=16&t=48626

best wishes,
