phpMyadmin: relation designer: can't view relations

Hello all,

I have just started using phpmyadmin with xampp. I want to create relations using the relation designer. Whenever I create a relation, it asks for confirmation. then a popup window opens up, and in the main screen it shows "Loaded". But there is no relation link that I can see between the tables. What am I doing wrong?
I tried doing this in all browsers like Firefox, IE, and Safari, but the result is same. In safari it does not open a popup window.

maybe someone out there got this problem too

give index to the fields that will related
can't explain why but it's works for me
