Help - Aparch Will Not Start [Solved]

Postby icor1031 » 25. February 2012 06:06

I have XAMPP's .zip extracted to C:\Xampp.
Using xampp-control and xampp-control-3-beta, neither are able to START apache.

What's the deal? :(

There is no error log.

Are you using Skype? If yes, try to turn off Skype. Then start XAMPP and run Apache.
Note: Skype is using port 80. It can be problem.

Something is already using Port 80 so Apache cannot bind to it. In some instances, it is the World Wide Publishing service which is a component of IIS. If you have that service or any other IIS component running, you will need to turn those off or disable them first (check Start > Run > services.msc).

Thanks, gentlemen. It was Skype. I had forgotten that even with trillian, it uses port 80.
