To what extent is XAMPP used to host multiple web sites in (a) commercial settings and (b) non-commercial settings? Thanks for your answer.

I think I found the answer (or at least part of it): "Separation of powers:
XAMPP for development environment only
Zend Server (CE) for production environment"
Would it be unwise to use XAMPP to run one commercial website (not hosting multiple websites)? If the answer is Yes, then please tell me why.

You can use XAMPP for non-commercial or commercial projects.
But for security reasons you should not use XAMPP for productive systems (regardless of whether you want to use it commercial or non-commercial).
