XAMPP one click start/stop and browser open

Postby wombathts » 17. January 2012 15:27

Hi!

Is there any way to pack xampp with php application in one exe file, and when launched, unpack xampp files somewhere, open new browser window, start php application and stop (and delete) xampp after user closes browser?

Friend's company wants dynamic website with their many user guides, but its not possible to host it on web server in normal way. We decided to pack it with xampp to one file and distribute over windows shares to users.
Start have to be as easy as possible, because users are not IT-techs.

Is it possible? Or i need to made own start/stop scripts etc.

Due to the huge potential for 'things not working' AND the idea that this is 'way invasive', I would say this is a good way to ensure you don't get repeat clients. never mind the fact that 'XAMPP' is not intended for production environments' - Overall, I'd give it a -5.

These are my personal comments, and do not reflect the XAMPP project's views or those of our fearless leaders.

Good Luck with whatever you choose to do (no sarcasm)
