XAMPP cannot write to directory in XP [Solved]

Postby clone45 » 26. December 2011 21:29

Hello!

I'm having a problem with XAMPP. PHP is unable to create a file in a specific directory. I'm sure that it's some sort of permissions issue, but I can't figure out how to solve it. I have XAMPP running on my laptop (which is Windows 7) and my workstation (which is Windows XP). Both computers show that the directory is write protected. Windows 7 is able to write a file to the directory, but my Windows XP cannot.

Any help would be much appreciated. I compared the http.conf file of both computers and they are nearly identical.

Thanks!
- Bret

Well - since I have not yet been able to channel Mr. Spock today - I'm at a loss as to 'what' folder that might be
"PHP is unable to create a file in a specific directory. "

Good Luck

Oh, sorry JonB, it's something to do with the Smarty Template engine and not PHP or Apache. My apologies.
