/opt/lampp/lampp start - Cannot execute binary file

Postby openarchsolutions » 20. December 2011 20:15

Hi,

I am running Linux cm-debian 2.6.24-cm-x270 an armv5tel GNU/Linux Operating System.

I got the following error when I typed the following command:

#su
#/opt/lampp/lampp start

cm-debian:~# /opt/lampp/lampp start

XAMPP: Couldn't start MySQL!

XAMPP for Linux started.
cm-debian:~#

Please let me know if the xampp-linux-1.7.7.tar.gz was not compiled for cm-debian 2.6.24-cm-x270 operating system.

Thanks,

Brian T Nguyen

Hi JonB,

Thank you for your reply. Do you mean XAMPP was not compiled for armv5tel?
If I download XAMPP source codes can I compile the source codes on cm-debian 2.6.24-cm-x270 operating system?
What compiler is required to compile the source codes for XAMPP?

Unfortunately, cm-debian 2.6.24-cm-x270 operating system is required for my project and it is running on a small board for a telephone system.
I am very excited to see XAMPP can run on cm-debian 2.6.24-cm-x270 operating system.

I just need to know how to compile the source code on this operating system.

Please provide me some tips.

Again, thank you for your help

Brian...

 What was unclear there? It was compiled for x86, its a 32 bit compilation, you can run it on IA64 if you install the 32 bit libraries.

Binary level compatibility is OS by OS, and is instruction set & architecture specific. One 'compilation' ONLY fits one subset.

As for compiling yourself -
You will need complete recompiles. This means you will need the 'original sources' (i.e. Apache, PHP, plus whatever other options you require) plus the development kit for XAMPP - This is a non-trivial exercise, and much knowledge and perseverance will be required.

I just need to know how to compile the source code on this operating system.

That's a bit beyond what I am here for - but it is no different than any other Linux/Unix derivative.

You should also read and 'grok' this page -

That may enable you to 'short-cut' the requirements of the project.

Good Luck and Happy Holidays
