Not Writable [Solved]

Postby angela_zou » 02. December 2011 04:57

Hi,

I run into an issue with Wordpress that it says the files are not writable. I have no problem creating a new post, but when it comes to editing the theme, it wouldn't allow me. It's the same with the permalink structure. I thought may be my htaccess rules aren't correct, here is what's in the .htaccess files.

<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteRule ^index\.php$ - [L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule . /index.php [L]
</IfModule>

I also made all the files readable and writable for all wp-content and .htaccess, but still not able to write the files. Any thoughts?

Haha, it turns out that even I enabled all users and groups to have read and write capabilities, I didn't apply the extended option of 'Apply this to the enclosed items'. The option is hidden in that little screw button right next to the +/-. If anyone else runs into the same issue, hope this would provide some insight for you as well.
