Error 500 (Win7) 1.7.5

Hi everyone,

Im trying to create a form that takes a field filled in on one page and includes it in text on another.

The first page, http://localhost/test_form.asp comes up fine, when i click submit it should go to http://localhost/test_form_processor.asp and display the entered information. However it comes up with the following error;

Server error!
The server encountered an internal error and was unable to complete your request. Either the server is overloaded or there was an error in a CGI script.

If you think this is a server error, please contact the webmaster.

I have looked through the error log and it comes up with this ;

can anyone explain what this is and how i can fix it?

I don't believe that Apache knows how to handle Microsoft Active Server Pages.

The asp mentioned in the error log file refers to a perl module (perl script) defined by having a shebang in your pages.

Apache::ASP provides an Active Server Pages port to the Apache Web Server with Perl scripting only

If you want to use asp then use the default Microsoft web server (IIS aka World Wide Publishing Service) that comes with your OS.
Alternatively you can use PHP for your web form needs if using XAMPP.
