Security setting in Mac 10.6.8
hierarchy of permissions

the bottom line of which i am dealing with is the usual (((( permissions ))))) .
i go to place a plain text file into htdocs and need to enter a password.

in the XAMPP / security page there is this lead for a file path:

/Applications/XAMPP/xamppfiles/xampp security

Code: Select all
$ /Applications/XAMPP/xamppfiles/xampp\ security
-bash: /Applications/XAMPP/xamppfiles/xampp security: No such file or directory

that seems to work well.

next i did this:
/Applications/XAMPP/xamppfiles/xampp
notice i took out the last word in the file path
that in turn shows this:
Question: is this of which is displayed here what any person would be looking for as the intended target of which the developer was pointing the end user to.

Code: Select all
$ /Applications/XAMPP/xamppfiles/xampp
Usage: xampp <action>
