Stopping Xampp reboots (shutsdown) Windows

Hello All,
Forgive me if this has been posted previously - I performed a search and could not find anything.

I have Windows XP and have installed Xampp, which worked fine a few months ago. However, now when I STOP Apache using the control panel, my entire Windows system reboots every time. Any help would be appreciated.

I have Xampp for Windows version 1.7.3. CP version 2.5.8. Windows XP SP3.

Hello Lottie,

Look in the Windows Event Viewer:
Start>Administrative Tools>Event Viewer>Application and System tabs.

See if there are any clues.

Thanks for the quick response. Nothing noted in the event logs. But I did figure out that ZoneAlarm is the culprit. My workaround is shutting down ZoneAlarm before stopping Apache and then restarting ZoneAlarm. This avoids a Windows shutdown.

Thank you for your help - funny how reaching out often brings the advice you need or just the energy you need to send you in the right direction.

Your welcome Lottie and I am pleased you were able to find the offender.

ZoneAlarm is well known in these forums for not sitting nicely with XAMPP.
