Access phpmyadmin from another network

Postby jaykai » 14. September 2011 19:25

Hello!

Right now I'm trying to access phpmyadmin from a different network than my xampp server, and I get the error message:

Access forbidden!

New XAMPP security concept:

Access to the requested object is only available from the local network.

This setting can be configured in the file "httpd-xampp.conf".

How can I fix this?

Thanks in advance!

read this:

http://bravo.newnetenterprises.com/word ... -security/

although that article was written for XAMPP on Windows - it covers how 'XAMMP Security Concept' works and what to add. The actual Apache directives are just about the same on all versions -

you will need to locate the file - httpd-xampp.conf in your installation. Then add the IP addresses you wish to allow. I actually did that same thing just a bit ago on a XAMPP/LAMPP Linux installation (so I could run phpMyAdmin remotely). It works...

After you make the changes, you will need to restart Apache.

That may not be the ONLY security issue you should address.

Good Luck
