HTML pages don't render properly?

I've just installed Xampp 1.7.4 and tried to view one of my html pages. The rendered page looks significantly different than the one I get via my web hosting. It's a relatively simple page but somehow the css isn't being properly processed. I haven't tried viewing the source or really doing much investigation. Just thought I'd check here to see if anyone else had encountered this.

check your sourcecode with Firebug, especially the paths of your external resources

Didn't have the right files in the right places (where I thought I had them). Oops!
