How to finish the email setup on localhost?

Hello ,

I have installed XAMPP which included Mercury . I think I have finished the setup. But I can't able to send and receive emails. I just want to use email feature for some CMS script installations like WordPress on localhost

Does any one have Idea how to configure email, so I can use it on localhost?
