i'm trying over and over again to install xampp but it's the same thing every time i try:

tea@ubuntu:~$ sudo tar xvfz '/home/tea/Downloads/xampp-linux-1.7.4.tar.gz' -C /opt
[sudo] password for tea:
tar (child): /home/tea/Downloads/xampp-linux-1.7.4.tar.gz: Cannot open: No such file or directory
tar (child): Error is not recoverable: exiting now
tar: Child returned status 2
tar: Error is not recoverable: exiting now

please do answer!!!

1. - is this a local install or on a remote server? Are you use remote SSH in some form, or a local shell command line???

2. -
/home/tea/Downloads/xampp-linux-1.7.4.tar.gz: Cannot open: No such file or directory
is apparently telling you one of two possible things -
EITHER
A. the file was not placed where you think it was (i.e. - it is truly missing)
OR
B. when logged in as 'that' superuser, you can't access 'that' location.
