Cant got through http://localhost/xampp

Hi.. anyone please help to solve this problem.
I've installed this xampp 1.7.2 and all the installation process are succed.
also the control panel also running smoothly (which is apache and mysql)
but when i type http://localhost/ at my browser i cant get through .

http://127.0.0.1/ <<--------- with this i can get through

Please Help me !!

Have a look in your hosts datei

You will have this:

127.0.0.1  localhost

When not, edit it (with a txt-editor, not notepad, not word, etc)

Read this both

Hosts in german:
http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hosts

Hosts in english:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hosts_file

I do not know your win OS.
That's why I posted the 2 links, there are the paths to the specified hosts.

You must read it myself

Im using OS 64bit.
i searched in other topics. there is a problem with 64bit..

By default on Vista and Win 7, localhost is mapped in IPv6, and DOES NOT need an entry in the hosts file.

To make 127.0.0.1 worlk for localhost add this line

127.0.0.1 localhost
